  • 1-1/2 lbs   ground beef                                   
  • 1/2 c         chopped onion
  • 1 clove      garlic                                 
  • 1 can        tomato soup                      
  • 1 tsp         Worchestershire sauce                
  • 5 tbsp       long grain rice
  • 1 c            water                                            
  • 4 c            shredded cabbage
  • 1 - 2 c       grated cheddar cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Brown beef in skillet, add onion and cook until tender, add remaining ingredients.  Put cabbage in greased casserole dish.  Top with meat mixture cover and bake 1 hour at 350°.  Top with cheese and bake another 15 minutes.

Alternate - if you do not want to use tomato soup, substitute 10 oz tomato juice plus 1/4 c. sour cream for soup and 1 c tomato juice for water.  Also add 1 tbsp brown sugar.
